Abstract  Expressionism A 1940s New York city based movement made up of  artists expressing themselves with their brushes  with splashes of paint on canvases,  that put New York on a globally  recognised scale in the  art arena . Strongly defined by earlier art movements combined into one major one, as the name suggests this movement was a mixture of "expressionism" and "abstraction". P O P A R T The movement that believed in everyday people  across all cultures. 1958 - 1972 Incepting from abstract expressionist's art which was highly dependant on the artist's subjective feeling and sensations, Pop art drew its inspiration from simple objects that ranged from the decoration of soup cans, plates,comic strips and even beverage can containers to name a few.
